Heroes cast shadows. If only we could remember this, maybe we would put less people on pedestals. Maybe we would be less hurt when we walked through one of their shadows. Villains can have admirable qualities. If only we could remember this—that ultimately all bear the creator’s image—maybe we’d believe in and seek out redemption. Maybe we could encourage and counsel with an eye toward the admirable and not just away from the villainous. For both, maybe we could be quick to forgive and slow to judge so that we might consider the whole person.
