We ought to be listening to see who the world-system wants to devalue and degrade, most often first with words, so that we can know for whom we should be speaking and standing.Onward p. 121
Again, I’m thinking a “Sanctity of Political Enemies Sunday” would be in order here. And yes, Christians who devalue and degrade political enemies with their words are part of the world-system.
That’s not to say that we can’t disagree with politicians or speak against their policies and plans. But we must not devalue and degrade them. There is a line that Christians should not cross when speaking against the world’s evil. When speaking against politicians who promote evil and who say right is wrong and wrong is right, we must see them as human beings, made in God’s image, and as Peter says, “Honor all men.”
