We want to get on in life with as little trouble as possible, and often “as little trouble” means going along with the flow, whatever direction the flow happens to be going. How many have voted for a candidate because it was the in-thing to do? How many will go along with evil or good because it is the in-thing to do? Peer pressure does not stop just because one graduates high school. Every culture will test someone’s conviction.
